The Waves

50 min / 2021

The Waves
follows three characters who are particularly sensitive to the world. Together they decide to cultivate sensitivity as a practice, with a focus on forces deemed invisible. The Waves takes its title from the novel by Virginia Woolf, written in parallel soliloquies in the mind of each character. The film follows the shared inner monologue of these three characters as they explore the vulnerability of their own bodies and the world around them, passing along objects, gestures, and aphorisms. The Waves developed out of the series of garments Faraday Wear.
